What it Takes to Organize a Great Golf Holiday Tour

December 23rd, 2009 kvedros No comments

The perfect golf holiday tour does not have to be time-consuming or painful.  You can look at any number of pristine golf courses around the globe and plan the perfect golf holiday.  Remember that great golf destinations can be found throught the States and Canada.

Although there are many exceptional local golf courses, especially those in Florida, California, North Carolina, and Arizona, you could also consider courses overseas. Now, if you consider the perfect golf travel holiday as being one in another country, we highly recommend you look at courses and resorts in Spain, Scotland, and Portugal, among others. Each of these destinations are beautiful and the courses pristine. Spain is one option that men and women love, a stunning part of the world that has great golf courses, not to mention historic castles.

For your golf holiday tour, you could choose a full tournament or a mini-tournament.  To determine what each course offers, all you need to do is call some of the ones that appeal to you most and ask what they offer. Best of all, whether you play a full or mini-tournament and no matter your destination, or even if you win or lose, staying at a reputable resort offers additional benefits.  For instance, you and your friends and/or family could dine in the on-site restaurant, enjoying a fabulous meal by a top chef. Another great aspect of taking a golf holiday is that while you and your friends spend the day on the green, the wives can be pampered at the resort spa or explore the city and shop.

Often times, trying to put together a golf holiday tour such as this is challenging only because there are so many choices. Cities all over the world have incredible golf courses and often, some of the top courses are located within miles from each other, a strategy often planned. The benefit here is that you can golf at just one course or try several.  Often, finding a central location such as this makes the trip better than imagined.

Because of this, you might use the assistance of a professional golf specialist. This person specializes in golf tours, meaning he or she knows where every great course is located, the types of tournaments offered, and the amenities of the connected resort.

Having insight such as this makes the planning of the perfect golf holiday tour a simpler and more enjoyable process for everyone.

Golfing Has Solar Panels?

December 19th, 2009 kvedros No comments

If you are a golf player and are starting to feel the aches and pains of old age then you must know how difficult it is to walk the course with a golf trolley. Many people would like to use a battery powered golf trolley but feel there are better things to spend their money on than constantly getting golf batteries and of course 12v batteries.

On top of this there are actually many other reasons for the golf trolley being a bit of a problem. A big problem is that many people go to bed and forget to stick the thing on charge which of course means they hit a major problem when they go to play golf the next day! Sometimes it just cannot be done and the older people may have to stop a golf game just because they havent got their electric trolley charged up.

So with the world moving to the greener options why on earth has nobody brought out a green golf trolley? Most days in which you play golf the sun is shining and you have to drink a hell of a lot just to keep cool. Something as small as the golf trolley means that if you were to fit a solar panel onto it, in theory it could power it on the go. So the options you would have are much better, you could charge it up at night by the mains or do it on the move via the sun.

Although in theory this is actually a really cool idea it may not actually take just a short time to charge up so you could end playing the front 9 whilst wheeling the trolley around. Is this actually a bad thing at all?

Console Golf Games

December 18th, 2009 kvedros No comments

Tiger Woods has all the glory when it comes to golf on computer games but are there other alternatives and if so, are they actually any good~Although of course Tiger Woods seems to have most of the market when it comes to the golfing games there are alternatives out there it just the question is, are they any good~Although there are many other games out there it would seem that Tiger Woods is the key one in the community however what are the others like}?

Tiger Woods

Although this blog isnt really going to go into much detail on this blog it is has to be in here because it is the best golf game currently out there. The main reason for this isn’t because Tiger Woods is on the front of it but because the PGA tour features within the game itself. This means that you not only get to play as worlds no.1 but you also get to play as other cool famous golfers. It would seem like this game is for the people who play golf as it is really realisitc.

Wii Sports

Okay so it doesn’t really compare to Tiger Woods when it comes to the graphics but when it comes to game play it is actually quite a fun game. A good thing about this game is that if for some reason you are getting a bit bored with the golf you can switch to one of the others and have a bit of a mess around.

Super Swing Golf

This is another game that cannot really be compared to Tiger Woods however it is a very fun game to play with the kids and some of the people in it are a bit crazy.

Mario Golf

A lot of these games have been released and they are my favourite outside of the Tiger Woods games because they add the best range of things to do. It is always fun to play as one of your favourite Mario characters which is another reason on why it is a good game.

It is wondered if any of these golfers have golf batteries. They would certainly need those 12v batteries to power some of their golf trolleys.

How To Choose The Right Golf Clubs for Your Game

December 13th, 2009 kvedros No comments

Golf clubs have changed over the years and the way we play golf has changed as well. Our irons have changed, with most manufacturers realising the increasing popularity of easy-to-hit hybrids and selling irons sets which start at the 4-iron and sometimes even at the 5-iron. It stands to reason, as for most club players hybrids are much easier to play than the corresponding iron.

The volume of driver heads is regulated by the current USGA and R&A limits. For conforming drivers that limit is 460 cc and most club golfers would do well to play to that limit. If you struggle with consistency with your driver, playing a bigger driver will definitely help. Pushing the weight to the perimeter of the these big drivers and new square and triangular designs means the modern driver is far more forgiving, even on bad swings. Miss-hit a 460 cc driver and you won’t lose as much in distance and accuracy.

In common with all clubs, the engine of your driver lies in the shaft. Get the shaft wrong and your accuracy and distance from the tee will suffer. Many of the most common faults in golf can be traced back to the shaft. Struggling with a slice, a softer shaft might do the trick. Struggling to get any height - a shaft with a softer tip section could well be the solution. Match your swing speed to the proper shaft and your chances of success will multiply. If you don’t know how fast you swing the club, most shaft ratings also show the carry versus swing speed specifications. Check the flex rating for various shafts and match your usual carry distance to a flex rating.

Sales of hybrid clubs are now outpacing fairway woods by almost 100%. If you need consistency in your long game, hybrid clubs would probably be your best bet. Manufactured to be versatile and playable from all lies, hybrid clubs can be used from the tee, the fairway and even from the rough. These are high launching clubs, so most shaft companies are marketing specialty shafts built with this in mind.

Iron designs now come in an even wider range of options. Modern irons can help many of the most widespread swing faults. Offset irons to decrease the slice, wide soles on irons can reduce the fat shot and get much needed height on the ball for many. Take a good look at the irons you play. If their design doesn’t give you the help you need, then it’s in all probability time for a change.

The scoring clubs provide lots of options to choose from as well. Forgiving wedge designs mean you don’t have to make any compromises with your wedge play anymore. If you have problems playing little flop-shots then high lofted wedges are there to help. If you have trouble getting out of bunkers, an easy to hit hollow sand wedge may possibly be the best answer. These are super easy to hit and it’s almost a putting stroke to get out of just about any bunker.

Relaxed equipment rules have given us some pretty strange looking putter designs. Strange looking, but effective. If you struggle with the flat stick, a more forgiving putter shape may well be the best choice. Closing the putter too much towards the hole? You probably miss a lot of putts to the left (for a right handed golfer) and a face balanced mallet could well be the remedy to your putting woes.

Choosing the right golf clubs for your game is about playing clubs that make the most of your strong points and reduce your weaknesses. It needn’t be an expensive exercise. There are very high value clubs to choose from in the component market. Plus your component clubs will be custom built for you which is the best way to play the right golf clubs for your game.

A Golf Fitness Coach Equals Good Golf

November 30th, 2009 kvedros No comments

Golf fitness coach. Have you still considered one…and if so, what technically were you looking for? There are several ‘common fitness’ trainers trying to acquire a piece of the golf fitness and training market that seems to be speedily gaining exposure equally on the television and inside print thanks to Tiger, Vijay and Annika.

But the first thing you require to think when looking into hiring a golf fitness coach or program is the trainers experience inside golf.

Yes…that is high on the list of requirements. Does he/she know golf? Do they know the biomechanics of the golf swing? How about muscle function during the golf swing?

An easy test is during the initial interview or if you’re researching it online is to either ask very golf specific swing technique questions; or take a look at the fact on the website. You’ll find out real quick if this person or program be able to make easier your golf swing, game and health.

A golf fitness coach or program ought to incorporate strength, flexibility, endurance, body awareness, balance, stability and even a nutrition component.

It’s easy for a trainer to have a strength component…but is it specific to golf? A quick test. Take a look at some of the exercises. Are a few of them on seated machines for instance? If they are…run! This is NOT a golf fitness coach and/or program. This is considered ‘general fitness’.

Currently stretching. There are dozens of stretches for each citizens. But take a look at several of them. Do they even remotely look like they will improvement your golf swing?

Stretches involving trunk flexibility; lower back; hamstring; and even shoulders specific to the mechanics of the swing are what you prefer. General stretches are greater than nothing, but will delay your results. You decide specific stretches.

Body awareness. Does some of the exercises resemble golf positions or phases of the swing? Do they look like you would be on your feet and in your golf posture? As stated on top of, if they are seated on machines, your body will learn nothing inside regards to your golf swing.

Training your body specific to golf incorporates positions almost identical to what your body would be inside during a few section of the golf swing.

Stability. Training your body to increase stability in your swing be able to acquire a little complex if you in reality desire to see results. The swing happens at between 80-100 miles an hour. One of the biggest flaws of amateur golfers is moving inside their golf swing.

Moving either laterally (sliding), vertically (up and done) or both. This is death to your golf swing. To improve your stability involves specific power drills most trainers don’t even know about.

I can go on-and-on about the requirements of a golf fitness coach or program. It is critical you make the right choice. I have heard horror stories of golfers working using ‘so-called’ golf fitness experts and their game getting worse. Using the proper research this won’t happen to you. So definitely consider a golf fitness coach.

What is it Thats Hard About Playing Golf

November 29th, 2009 kvedros No comments

Golf is one of them games which look very comfortable to play, but can in fact be rather hard when you get down to it. The game itself is a basic rule, hit the ball and attempt to pot in. But there are some physical aspects which can help improve your game and that a lot of people lack and that is why they find it extremely difficult to play golf.

Concentration

Golf heavily involves high levels of engrossment; you have to concentrate when you strike the ball and have to concentrate when you putt the ball, all of this concentration leads to a high level of self correction and if you do not have this discipline in place, then you are going to lose out when you are on the golf green.

Accuracy

As well as concentration you have to have an eye for accuracy, accuracy is something that somebody has naturally, without a calm hand and a good eye you are literally going to be unable to strike the ball to where it needs to go, while your opponent has the upper hand over you.

Temper

To sum it up I would say that you need to have a good head on your shoulders if you ever want to win a game of golf. If you have ever played the game, you will come to realize that you need to have a good temper. Throughout a game on a green you are going to at least mess up one shot, but if you have a bad temper you are going to keep on thinking and thinking about this one bad shot and then end up making yourself angry. Which will finally end up affecting your performance on your accuracy and concentration.

Enjoying a Golf Holiday

November 28th, 2009 kvedros No comments

Nothing is more thrilling than family and friends taking a fun and relaxing golf holiday tour together.  This great sport can be played all over the globe. As you consider the various destinations, you will find that you can choose from thousands and thousands of possibilities in foreign countries along with golf courses nearby your home town.  There are many great courses that exist right here in America such as in California, Florida, Arizona, and North Carolina each have some of the best courses, as well as associated resorts and hotels.

However, if you prefer traveling abroad, then Scotland, Spain, or Portugal are considered top destinations.  Take Scotland as a prime example.  The golf courses are beautifully designed, providing excellent play.  The groundskeepers work hard to keep the grounds in perfect condition and the grass green.  In addition to pristine courses, Scotland is also known for incredible accommodations in castles and historical resorts.

You may want to look for a location offering a golf tournament.  If you prefer not to play a full tournament, then perhaps a mini-tournament would be more to your liking.  For this, we recommend you look at some of the golf courses close to where you live in addition to those in other countries.

After playing, whether you win or not, you and your friends could enjoy dinner at the resort, made by a master chef.  If the spouses join you and your friends on this golf holiday tour but do not golf, they could spend time at the day spa in the resort or head out to shop.

The goal is to find the most, pristine golf course possible in a location you will also enjoy visiting. As you begin your search, you will be amazed at the vast number of famous courses to play.  Often, a city will have several top quality golf courses within a 15-minute drive from each other.  That way, you can play on one course and then try another if you want.  You will receive the greatest benefit by having a golf holiday tour consisting of more than one course.

If you cannot choose the golf course that you want, then we recommend you consider working with a golf specialist, a professional that knows everything about courses around the globe.  This individual would provide you with detailed information for local and foreign golf course, showing you some of the positive and negative aspects of each.  In addition, most golf specialists can organize your entire trip.

Planning Your European Golf Holiday

November 27th, 2009 kvedros No comments

Are you seeking ideas for a wonderful and exciting golf holiday for you and your wife?  Consider a golf holiday in Spain, it would be one great destination, especially if the wife is a non-golfer.  With this, spending time in Madrid or Barcelona would offer outstanding golf but also create a romantic getaway.

Therefore, you and your spouse could find a charming villa to add a little intimacy to the trip.  Tuscany, Italy is also a great destination, one that not only offers incredible golf but also the chance to head to the countryside where you could visit several wineries and vineyards.

Even heading to certain Asian countries would be excellent if you are interested in an exotic golf holiday.  As an example, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand are all top destinations, boasting lush, tropical settings and warm-hearted people.  You would also discover these Asian cities have amazing weather, which gives you more days to spend on the green.  Add in the delicious Asian food, tons of shopping, and sightseeing adventures, and you can see why this makes for a good choice.

Without doubt, organizing golf holidays and tours that involve taking your wife or maybe a number of people will require good research and organization.  It also means looking at all the options for golf, even in staying in the United States.  However, you should not discount destinations such as Canada, the Caribbean, South America or Southeast Asia as options.

To help stay within a set budget but without sacrificing quality while enjoying a safe tour you can relax knowing the trip was completely organized with the services of a golf travel specialist.  This is a huge benefit that will guarantee your golf holiday tour will be stress free.

Along with getting your golf holiday tour organized, working with a professional would include air travel, rental car, and accommodations.  These golf specialists are so good at what they do that they can also provide suggestions for restaurants, shopping, and sightseeing close to where you will be golfing to accommodate your wife’s desires as well.

Having someone handle all the details of a trip such as this would allow you to relax and enjoy time on the green, playing the great sport of golf.

Don’t hesitate, pick up the phone or go online right now and start planning a special trip for you and your wife.  You don’t have to refer to it as a golf holiday in Spain or elsewhere, just refer to it as a second honeymoon for the two of you that includes shopping and spa treatments for her and golfing for you!

How to Consistently Hit Long Golf Drives

November 27th, 2009 kvedros No comments

The tee is where every golf hole starts. If you’re having trouble getting off the tee, then you’re opening every single hole playing catch up. You might save your par with a great short game, but you could well be putting for birdies if your drive had found the fairway.

For the majority of players, consistency and long golf drives are far from being impossible. Being long from the tee is easier than most players understand.

With the modern multi-layer golf ball and Titanium driver, long drives come from hitting the ball on a high launch angle and getting the best angle of descent. It’s not about wormburners anymore. Long golf drives are now a result of high launch and long carry.

With extreme swing speeds and on-center striking, pros still manage to launch the ball high, even with low lofted drivers. For most club players though, playing additional loft in their drivers will amplify both carry and accuracy. The majority of club golfers would do best with drivers in the 11 14 degree loft range.

Fitting the right driver shaft is vital when it comes to long drives and consistent golf. The shaft has a vital part to play in all your clubs but the effects of playing the wrong shaft in your driver are magnified.

Most golfers now play graphite shafts in their drivers. Sadly, most golfers also play shafts that are too stiff for their swing speeds. That probably has a lot to do with the most common fault in golf, the slice. Use a shaft that is excessively stiff and you’ll probably hit a slice.

In part, that has to do with the popular misconception that graphite shafts are too whippy, too soft. That could well have been true 10 years ago, but modern graphite shaft manufacturing methods have given us first-rate models with excellent flex profiles.

A medium torque, light-weight driver shaft would give the best results for the majority of golfers. The light-weight will improve swing speed and you’ll be able to load a medium torque shaft better during your swing, getting the club square back to the ball with the most energy. More yards come from more energy.

Launch angles are also affected by the rigidity of the shaft tip. Use a shaft that is excessively tip stiff and your carry will suffer. Long golf drives start with the launch trajectory. Take into account, we’re looking for a strong flight, not a low worm burner.

Matching your driver head and shaft specifications to your game type is the most crucial part of consistently long golf drives. Your driver need to match your game, not work against it.

For more information on hitting long golf drives, visit our Clone Golf Clubs site and see for yourself where the lowest cost extra yards are hiding.
